February 24, 2013 by Sandra Jonas STATUS SYMBOL revisited Back to the driveway…. What mine lacks is definition, or in design terms “line.” In the above photo the tire tracks and tree trunks provide it. One of my favorite treatments for a drive, is the one below. Beautiful cobbles contain the gravel and the line provides direction. What a wonderful welcome! Another item on my ‘Honey Do’ list. Photo courtesy of FOR LOVE OF A HOUSE. Visit this blog for an overdose of inspiration and to see how they installed the cobbles. http://fortheloveofahouse.blogspot.com/2012/09/so-lest-you-think-weve-been-sitting.html Share this: Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn More Click to email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Like Loading... Oh, I love a cobblestone lined driveway. So natural, so perfect. Can’t wait to see pics of yours when you get it in place. Reply
I recognized Joan and Dan’s beautiful driveway immediately. For the Love of a House is one of my favorite blogs. Reply
Often use tree branches, min. 3″ diameter, as edging when funds are building for the cobbles ! Of course I think the real status symbol is what you already have. XO T Reply
