Recently, Tara Dillard of A Garden View, posted about frames in the landscape. It brought to mind a lovely vignette I saw in a garden while in England. Initially I thought an artist had set up to paint.
As I approached
I saw
What had been ‘Framed’.
The lesson here is that framing a view brings it into relief. Scroll back to the last photo, see the difference? See Tara’s post here.

Hi Sandra, what a wonderful and unique idea with the picture frame, pure genius.
I want to thank you for the correction on the maidenhair fern. It is not the first time that a comment has helped me fix an error, nor the last, on plant identification, especially but not always with passalong plants. I see that you have the true Southern belle growing in your space. Lucky you! No wonder some northern gardeners said they had seen it growing in large swaths there (Canada!). I have corrected the post and linked to you, also adding you to the sidebar blogroll. 🙂
Frances
Frances, I am so appreciative of your comment. I know I would like to be corrected if I made a mistake on plant ID. So we are kindred spirits. Thanks for adding me to your blogroll.
Thats brilliant, I love it
I thought so too. Thanks Sunny
